Adobe XD vs Affinity Designer
Adobe XD was a vector-based UI/UX design tool developed by Adobe Inc. for designing and prototyping user experiences for web and mobile applications. Adobe discontinued XD in 2023, ceasing new sales and feature development. Existing subscribers can continue using the application, but Adobe now directs users to Figma following its partnership agreement.
Affinity Designer is a vector graphics editor developed by Serif (now owned by Canva) for graphic design, illustration, and UI/UX work. Originally sold as a one-time purchase alternative to Adobe Illustrator, Affinity became completely free in 2025 following Canva's acquisition of Serif. The application combines vector and raster design tools in a single workspace with professional-grade features.
